"per aspera ad aspera"

an examination of the endless waiting loops triggered by the mass of applications necessary for success in the art world. Regardless of whether one is accepted or not. It is about the artistic self-awareness of being in between, of constantly adapting oneself and exhausting hope. In a sense, it is a harbinger of what awaits us all “in the world out there”—a mountain of rejections, refusals, and failures.

"la dolce vita"

This movie avoids judging. The place it is about is a place in the making. The small town of Worpswede is peaceful and splendid, Modest in word and straight in spirit, Faithful in everyday life, vigilant in character. Worpswede - where everyone has to go! By day and by night, the citizens sleep gently. In the snoring - the strength, In the clarity - compulsion, What would you like to dream about? To live in Worpswede? - Born in dignity, There are no harmful clouds: To become an artist - to give life to a work, and to die in peace. A portrait for a penny, a wine glass - for euros, You can only bake crumble cake with the Devil's Purse. In the town of Worpswede, only a gift for strangers: The moor! No clumsy platitudes, no framed palaces, - and apart from colors! - no mysterious punches. By weight Of gold or blood. Swamp! You don't have to go anywhere else. You just have to do it here. Enjoy.

The one of the recent video work consists of around 83 ceramic plaques with carved inscriptions. On the one hand, what is worth inscribing in stone in the tradition of the ancient peoples? On the other hand, the ceramic plaques only serve as English subtitles for the words spoken in Russian about “a magical-positive perception of the world, in which the universe holds gifts for everyone”. An enlightened view of the world through the lens of translation seems like an escape from realities in which there is no time left to hand over responsibility to a higher power.

"untitled childhood"

The Project "Untitled Childhood" is an ongoing project, started in January 2024. The exploration of unknown childhood videos turns into a feverish search for crossroads, protagonists and eventually turns into a sense of a mystery of crumpled memories. What is the "I" if the "I" on the screen is in the multichannel past? The film consists of found and digitalized 40-hour VHS tapes of childhood imprints in the post-Soviet space. Rolling backwards and forwards in time is an important part of the memory not only of the tapes, but also of the human perception of reality.

"fetzen/shreds"

A video performance in which the main protagonist covers a wall with kisses as a beautiful act of femininity. Only the outlines of what is happening are visible in the doorway. She looks in the mirror applies red lipstick to her lips, and kisses until the ,wall meets the floor. Nevertheless, the project narrates the protagonist's abusive relationship with her mother. Violence is usually associated with the masculine. In the above project, violence is conditioned by feminine battering. The project is about fear, longing, yearning and loss. And yet a voice singing a lullaby in the background assures the viewer that in the end everything will come to a cyclical silence in a traumatised world.

"a place I don't"

PƎRⱯ has worked collaboratively and processually, developing aesthetic and site-specific formations through shared observations, readings and discussions. Their practices follow Marie Louise Pratt's concept of contact zones to understand those reciprocal spaces where interactions take place and (asymmetrical) relationships are formed, where perceptions and practices are shaped by encounter. The group experimented with 'contact zines', 20 notebooks exchanged daily between PƎRⱯ practitioners during the research trip to Istanbul. Eliza Boucke transformed the zines into a video and added her own narration.

The project was exhibited as a huge ca. 4x5 meters projection at the Große Wasserspeicher, Berlin in June 2023 as a part of group exhibition TRANSIENCE. The so called "translation" of the projection was exhibited as a mirror video installation on the University Days of the University of Arts Bremen in July 2023

"gedankenleichen"

Do you ever get the feeling that the world has become one big stage for glorious and magnificent drama? Do you feel, as I do, that in an instant the world has become so serious that I forget to buy bread every time I leave the house for the nearest supermarket and come back with a whole pile of snacks to console myself? My project on forgetfulness. About the same damn bread that suffers from customer amnesia. A project about the sudden interconnection of that damn bread with the Cartesian view of the world. For if I forget the little things, even if I think about them, how can I continue to exist in reality à la " one hundred percent exist?" ? And it would seem - it doesn't matter so much whether I remember my purchases or not. Maybe I should just make a to-do list and more reminders? But ! I was so confused by the process of a little forgetting, so deep in my despair, that I thought about why we forget the little things and what it means to us or to me. This is what my project, in short, is about. About forgetfulness. And here I am already forgetting the next line I wanted to write here. I started the project back in November, but as the project and my forgetting progressed, the project became more serious and serious, as if it were not a project, but a conversation between a married couple in their fifth year of marriage....
